Scattered clouds overhead, a slight breeze.Temperature wasn't too bad. What do you know another beautiful day in the Southwest Perfect day to go hiking Scattered clouds drifted overhead, a slight breeze moved through the desert, and for once, the temperature wasn’t too bad. What do you know—another beautiful day in the Southwest. Perfect weather, wide-open country, and another excuse to lace up the boots and go see what the desert has waiting around the next bend. Perfect day for a hike.
Centuries ago, people chose this place to dwell. Was it the towering sandstone walls, hidden water, shelter from the relentless desert sun, or the life that somehow flourished among these ancient rocks? Standing here beneath the endless sky, surrounded by a silence that feels almost unnatural, you can't help but wonder what they saw that we have forgotten. Their voices are gone, their footsteps erased by centuries of wind and sand. Yet standing here in the silence, you can't shake the feeling that something remains watching, waiting, and whispering from the shadows of the ancient stone.
