The Paria River between Cannonville and Hwy 89 passes through some of the most isolated and remote country in the lower Forty-eight states
The Kitchen Creek area has a number of ruins including storage areas high up on the cliffs as well as a number of Rock Art Sites. The sites are spread over about 8 miles or so.
Deer Creek is rumored to contain petroglyphs and pictographs and possibly other interesting things.
Snake Gulch
A step back into history surrounds hikers with an amazing array of writings, etchings and structures left behind by ancient Native American inhabitants who once thrived in this canyon tributary of Kanab Creek.
We are now just waiting to see what the weather will be doing. After the last storm system that ravaged the area we are on a heightened alert.
