Neanderthals ate their greens
Neanderthals were thought to eat only meat, but investigation of their dental plaque suggests they consumed cooked plants.
The vision of them as inflexible carnivores has even been used to suggest that they went extinct around 25,000 years ago as a result of food scarcity, whereas omnivorous humans were able to survive.

Enepitsi - (ghost)
Enepitsi (pronounced e’noo petes) means “ghost” in Southern Paiute. The Land Hill area was heavily used by both Ancestral Puebloans and Southern Paiute. The river corridor, of which the Enepitsi Trail follows, played an important role in these past cultures. For this reason, the area, no doubt, abounds with ghosts from the past.

Well speak of the devil......
It's that time of year again..........
Flashflood!
and as soon as I replace my *camera I will be stalking the desert for them...
*(there was an incident a week or so ago involving a slot canyon, water, and a bat....but that's another story)
She said I was "literally" the sweetest guy she had ever met.....
.....but the longer I stood there licking my arm,
the more I wondered what exactly she meant.

Something to think about.....
Courthouse Wash
Archaic Indians painted long, tapered figures, known as Barrier Canyon
style rock art, on these cliffs above the Colorado river near Moab, Utah.
In 1980 vandals made an effort to destroy this panel by scrubbing it with stiff brushes and a cleaning abrasive. The NPS attempted to repair some damage, but no attempt was made to restore the panel to its former state.
