Descendents - Milo Goes To College ( Almost The Full Album )

Something to think about.....

The crucified planet Earth,
should it find a voice
and a sense of irony,
might now well say
of our abuse of it,
“Forgive them, Father,
They know not what they do.”

The irony would be
that we know what
we are doing.

When the last living thing
has died on account of us,
how poetical it would be
if Earth could say,
in a voice floating up
perhaps
from the floor
of the Grand Canyon,
“It is done.”
People did not like it here.

We meandered over to Land Hill today to check out and see if any
damage was done to the petroglyphs......

AFTERMATH : Population Zero (Full)

Imagine if one minute from now, every single person on Earth disappeared. All 6.6 billion of us. What would happen to the world without humans? How long would it be before our nuclear power plants erupted, skyscrapers crumbled and satellites dropped from the sky? What would become of the household pets and farm animals? And could an ecosystem plagued with years of pollution ever recover?

".....And Suddenly I Was On The Back of a Bicycle, Looting Things"

“You have to begin to ask yourself, which components of my belief system are things that I arrived at naturally from my observation of nature, and which parts of them are placed into me by a system that’s designed to turn people into consumers? I think that more often than not a greater percentage of your personality than you’d like is not you at all. It’s a tapestry that’s been cleverly woven by a system designed to make people feel totally normal spending the majority of their lives driving in a commute and working a shitty job and being tired all the time.”

Land Hill petroglyph sites vandalized;( by fucking assholes) BLM seeks public assistance

The Bureau of Land Management is responding to vandalism at rock art sites located on public lands, including the archaeological and historic site of Land Hill in Southern Utah.

Land Hill is part of the Santa Clara River Reserve – a 6,500-acre area of public land collaboratively managed by BLM and the cities of Ivins and Santa Clara, in part to protect the many prehistoric sites found there, including a high concentration of rock art sites that are preserved on those lands.

The BLM’s St. George Field Office has increased its monitoring efforts, is educating the public about these fragile cultural resource sites, and is pointing out the legal consequences of vandalism activities.

How it should be.....

Here is a beautiful glimpse into the tender moments of what wild and free buffalo look like - the way it should be - before the DOL and government agencies arrive to show the madness of how it currently is, creating an oppressive nightmare for buffalo with aggressive hazing operations; even the agents' horses suffer thoughtless and cruel behavior, but maybe there's a lesson here.

Something to think about.....

“Important questions should have arisen at once: What constitutes terrorism? How does it differ from aggression and resistance? The operative answers are revealing, but the questions never entered the arena of public discussion. A convenient definition was adopted: terrorism is what our leaders declare it to be. Period.”

If archeologists discovered the bones of Jesus, thereby disproving the notion of physical Ascension to heaven,

what percentage of Church authorities might prefer to suppress this information rather than have it become widely known?

Road work in Nine Mile Canyon yields new archaeological finds

The pit house Patterson’s crew is excavating is the first of its kind to be found so far up Nine Mile Canyon, he said. It’s also the first to be found with a burnt roof, which means the site could provide “a snapshot of daily life” once it’s completely unearthed, Patterson said.

“It’s extremely exciting,” he said.

The structure was discovered during the construction of a new low-water crossing on the Nine Mile Road. Work on that crossing was halted as soon as evidence of the prehistoric site was spotted, and won’t resume until the find can be documented and processed.

Canadian Oil Sands Flyover

When reaching out to Alberta oil sands companies before a trip to Canada last month, I thought all of them mined oil the same way — they don't.

The open mining most people think of when they picture the oil sands is just one way of extracting crude from the ground, but it is without a doubt the most dramatic. And we had to see it.

Incredible Video of Solar Eclipse

60 second time-lapse video made from 700 individual frames through a Coronado Solar Max 60 Double Stacked Hydrogen Alpha Solar Telescope. The pictures were shot in Redding California which was directly in the annular eclipse path. The filter on the telescope allows you to see the chromosphere which is a layer that contains solar prominences. The filter only allows light that is created when hydrogen atoms go from the 2nd excited state to the 1st excited state.

Suit Filed Against Expansion of Navajo Coal Mine Polluting Four Corners Region

After decades of coal pollution from the 2040-megawatt Four Corners Power Plant and BHP Billiton’s 13,000-acre Navajo Coal Mine that supplies it, Navajo and conservation groups filed suit against the federal government late Tuesday for improperly rubber-stamping a proposal to expand strip-mining without full consideration of the damage and risks to health and the environment.

It is not so much a worship of the forces of nature
as a recognition of these forces.
If they work smoothly together, life flows evenly and properly.
If there is discord among the natural forces the people suffer.

Vandalized Pictographs.....

'Ring of Fire' Solar Eclipse

The annular eclipse then crosses southern Nevada, southern Utah, the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona, the lower-left corner of Colorado, and most of New Mexico before ending in the area of Lubbock, Texas, around sunset at 8:36 p.m. CT.

For most viewers in the path of annularity, the eclipse will last for a just over four and half minutes.

Took some photos from the front yard using my old Canon PowerShot with the film from an old floppy disk as a filter.

Philosophers......

Something to think about.....

"The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair."

H.L. Mencken
