In 20 years, you will be more dissapointed by what you didn't do than by what you did......
....so fucking do something!
If not you, who? If not now, when?
Announcing the online release of the Black Cat Sabotage Handbook The Black Cat Sabotage Handbook is a resistance movement artifact that appeared mysteriously (thank you, whoever you are!) in the distro area at the 2010 Wild Roots Feral Futures eco-defense & rewilding gathering. After more than a year and numerous requests, the Dirty Hands Collective has decided to release the manual on-line, http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifpiece by piece (the manual is 136 pages long so scanning it all at once for release at places like ZineLibrary.info seemed unrealistic, though we plan to compile the sections as we release them for later uploading in one file). As far as we can tell, it does not exist anywhere else online, yet. As to the history of the document, we can uncover little other than one source that credits its authorship to Avalon, aka William Rogers, the Green Scare arrestee who committed suicide in his cell shortly after arrest.
Enjoy!
Dildos for Justice!
There's a Facebook group called Dildos for Justice that documents how often the police seize sex toys during drug raids. Balko found it while working on a story about a marijuana raid where the police searched a house, took out all the woman's sex toys, lined them up on the bed and took pictures of them and then made fun of her for having them.
The group is organizing a campaign to send a bunch of sex toys to the Oakland County police so they can stop stealing other people's dildos.
When Oakland County Narcotics Enforcement Team raided several businesses and homes in August they confiscated guns, cash, a computer, business records from the safe and filing cabinet, and at least one vibrating dildo out of the one of the victims bedrooms.
Cannabis Attorney Matt Abel relayed a similar situation with one of his clients, victims of a drug raid who had personal items taken by the SWAT team. Matt's take on it is that the Narcotics Officers hope the victims won't go to trial for fear their highly private devises will be publicly displayed.
"What do they think?" he asks, "that the vibrators were used in a crime? Used to transport drugs? Bought with drug money?'
Well folks, I figure it's likely that those fellas at Oakland County Narcotics Enforcement just need a little more love in their life. Perhaps a cup of hot tea, a good friend that listens unconditionally, and more dildos might assist in elevatinghttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif their compassion level.
That's why we're starting the Dildo's For Justice Campaign.
If you have any dildos you'd like to donate to Oakland County Sheriff, please send them to:

Stolen petroglyph returned to original home in southern Nevada
A petroglyph bearing the distinct images of bighorn sheep has been returned to its original home in southern Nevada after it was stolen in 2008.
The 300-plus-pound boulder was lifted by helicopter early this month to a remote site in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
"It doesn't belong in a museum," said Kelly Turner, an archaeologist for the U.S. Forest Service. "It's kind of like caging a bird."

Park Ranger Arrests Woman For Attempting To Record Her Own Traffic Stop
Celia Sullivan, a 50-year-old mother of two from Utah, enjoys hiking through the Capitol Reef National Park to take photos.
But it ended up getting her arrested on federal charges on the Fourth of July.
All because she tried to record the park ranger who had pulled her over.
Sullivan was charged with “disobeying a lawful order” and “resisting arrest” after she was pulled over by Park Ranger Steven Powers for allegedly failing to “maintain level of traffic.
Sullivan said Powers, pictured below, was tailgating her for several miles as she was trying to relocate the spot where she had left her tripod earlier that day.

Hit a slot canyon this afternoon....the aftermath....
The Matriarch of my family forced me to watch the movie 127 hours after exposing the young members of the clan to the "wonders" of slot canyons......
I deserve this type of treatment....I wander by myself all the time.....never let anyone know where I am going, when I'll be back, but in my defense.... plausible deniability is a good policy........ anyway I prefer this documentary to the movie.....

Collapse: How Societies Choose To Fail Or Succeed - Jared M. Diamond
"I've set myself the modest task of trying to explain the broad pattern of human history, on all the continents, for the last 13,000 years. Why did history take such different evolutionary courses for peoples of different continents? This problem has fascinated me for a long time, but it's now ripe for a new synthesis because of recent advances in many fields seemingly remote from history, including molecular biology, plant and animal genetics and biogeography, archaeology, and linguistics."
