“The earth makes a sound as of sighs and the last drops fall from the emptied cloudless sky. A small boy, stretching out his hands and looking up at the blue sky, asked his mother how such a thing was possible. Fuck off, she said.”

What Is ‘The Rock That Tells Stories’?

Like a palimpsest manuscript, showing traces of ancient writing under the new, the rock reveals layers of messages. And each stratum takes us not only back in time, but across entire civilizations.

Two bananas are sunbathing on a riverbank...

... when a turd comes floating by. He yells out "Come on in, the water's great!"
One banana looks at the other and says "Do you believe that shit?"

Q: Why did the banana go out with the prune?
A: Because he couldn't find a date.

...and so it begins...

I will be taking a short hiatus...

...due to circumstances beyond my control I will have to cut back on Petroglyph explorations for awhile...

Rare petroglyphs uncovered by freak weather in Hawaii

Epic winter swells just off of Oahu, Hawaii, have churned up monster waves more than 7 meters high, sent seawater surging around the foundations of beachfront homes, and gnawed away at sandy cliffs along the island’s North Shore.

They’ve also exposed rare petroglyphs that have not been seen in years.

Challenge Accepted ....

Think only Canadians need to worry about tar sands extraction? Think again.

In October, U.S. Oil Sands, Inc. joined Kentucky-based Arrakis Oil Recovery as the second company to receive a permit to produce U.S. tar sands. The Utah Water Quality Board gave U.S. Oil Sands a permit to extract 2,000 barrels of oil per day from Utah’s tar sands reserves.

Listen to the Butt Song from Hell written on a 500-year-old painting

One section of Hieronymus Bosch's massive triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights depicts a hellish chorus singing a song painted on the buttocks of a sinner. Now a musician has transcribed it into modern notation for our asinine listening pleasure.

This dramatic fossil shows an ancient marine reptile giving birth

This 248 million-year-old fossil is incredible for two reasons. First, it shows the tragic moment an Ichthyosaur died giving birth. Second, it's the oldest evidence of a live reptilian birth — about 10 million years older than previous samples.

Another Day....

“The human race had always disgusted me. essentially, what made them disgusting was the family-relationship illness, which included marriage, exchange of power and aid, which neighborhood, your district, your city, your county, your state, your nation-everybody grabbing each other's assholes in the Honeycomb of survival out of a fear-animalistic stupidity.”
