Desolation.......

No Utah Tar Sands! No Tar Sands Anywhere!

Protest erupts in Salt Lake City Utah. The proposed mining area in Utah is the first permitted tar sands mining in the United States. While Utah has found tar sands in as many as five states, Utah sets the precedent. The most current tar sands mining permits are in the Bookcliffs area, visible from Arches National Park, and the most threaten site is at PR Springs.

What A Way To Go: Life at the end of Empire

Trees.......

We should enjoy and make the most of life, not because we are in constant fear of what might happen to us in a mythical afterlife.....

.....but because we have only one opportunity to live.

Something to think about.....

“We depend on nature not only for our physical survival. We also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our minds. We got lost in doing, thinking, remembering, anticipating - lost in a maze of complexity and a world of problems. We have forgotten what rocks, plants and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be — to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is: here and now.”

Epitaph: The Late, Great United States

It's over. The sacrifice is done. A lone bugle plays weak, warbled taps as the smoke drifts from the ruins into the dark, grey sky.

America is finished. The plan is executed.

The labored shuffle of straggling survivors is heard as the rubble continues to slowly crumble. The jagged silhouette of a once proud metropolis looms in the background like the set of an old war movie.

Only this was no movie.
One Thing Led To Another..

And then it was over. Only now could the warnings be heard in the survivors' ears. Awake? If so, too late.

An eerie gasp of collective horror fills human consciousness as the news reaches distant shores, arriving like limp waves lapping in the misty silence, lonely drenched survivors dragging themselves up the beach.

Wailing and supplication erupt from humanity and saturate the heavens.

It was not just America. Israel, the trigger used to start the conflagration, is immolated. Only this Phoenix will never rise again. Iran is pocked with craters between vast flattened landscapes. Russia and China survive but badly wounded. The UK and other NATO countries in Europe also took major hits, as did Syria, Lebanon, India and Pakistan for entering the fray. Almost all US and NATO bases are gone or inoperable. Not bad in itself, but they brought devastation to scores of their host countries.

The human toll is inestimable. Recovery is not an option.

Now it's survival

I Ask You: Is This What You Want?

Because this is where we're headed unless humanity has one hell of a massive wake up.

Is there still time to avert this? I don't know.

We know they're cocked and loaded and itching to get this thing started. How far it will go remains to be seen.

I do know we'll get past this, one way or form or another. Until then, prepare and keep sounding the alarm. The wake up is in full swing, and that's why the crackdown. They're afraid of us. And rightly so. Expect empowerment and synchronicity to guide you and learn to follow your heart. As you act on it the volume grows louder.

And keep your fire burning brightly.

Something to think about.....

We have done enough stupidities. We have done enough harm to nature, to ourselves. We have been a nuisance on the Earth. Our whole history is a history of crimes - man against man, man against nature. What have we been doing here? Why should we be bothered to survive? What have you done in the thousands of years that you have been here? Can you justify that your being here on the Earth has been a creative addition to existence? Has it made it more blissful, more peaceful, more loving? Has it changed nature for something better?
What have you done in thousands of years except killing, murdering, butchering, slaughtering? - and in beautiful, good names: in the name of God, in the name of truth, in the name of religion. It seems you want to kill and destroy, and any excuse is enough.
Perhaps it is better that this world does not survive. But I am saying "perhaps" - remember that. Again perhaps.
The whole humanity perhaps may not be able to survive, but the few, a chosen few, can be saved. And that's enough.

Utah Bill Would Make Videotaping a Factory Farm the Same as Assaulting a Police Officer

Utah is the latest state to consider new laws targeting undercover investigators who expose animal welfare abuses on factory farms. A new bill would make photographing animal abuse on par with assaulting a police officer.

And still people wonder why I choose to think the way I think.....

It's probably too much to ask an unrepentant murderer to speak the truth or show compassion, but even among murderers, the following video is a staggering example of having zero empathy. Even the warmongering Brookings Institution has concluded that there are 10 civilians killed to every 1 "militant" in Pakistan alone. Obama denies this, and a range of other documented evidence, when he states that only "precision strikes against al Qaeda and their affiliates" are undertaken. Then, listen as Obahma makes a joke to the Jonas Brothers about being potential suitors for his own daughters. He says, "Boys, don't get any ideas. I have two words for ya' -- Predator Drones." I wonder if the family and who lost their daughter, or the community bombed in this video, would smirk quite the same as he.

Something to think about.....

“We have lost touch with the natural order of things… which day of the workweek it is may be more important to many of us than the great transition moments in the seasonal cycles. And which hour of the day it is—will I get to work on time? Will I avoid rush hour traffic? Will I get to watch my favorite television program?—may be more important to us than the transitional moments in the diurnal cycles. We have forgotten the great spiritual import of these moments of transition. The dawn is mystical, a very special moment for the human to experience the wander and depth of fulfillment in the sacred. The same is true of nightfall. And it’s true when we pass from consciousness to sleep, where our subconscious comes forward. That this is a special moment of intimacy… It’s the great transitional moment in our day-night cycle.
There are magical moments in the yearly cycle, too… winter solstice, the moment when the transformation takes place between a declining and ascending sun. It’s a moment of death in nature, a moment when everything is reborn. We have lost touch with this intimate experience.
In the springtime, humans are meant to wonder and to ceremonially observe succession, leading to the fulfillment of summer, and the beginning of the movement again toward death. At the harvest there is another time of gratitude and celebration…
All of this is cosmological. Such experience evokes a sense of wonder at the majesty of things. We participate in the world of the sacred, the world of mystery, the world of fulfillment. To recognize our fulfillment in these moments is to know what it is to be human.
We can say the same for places as for moments. To be fully human is to fully experience the spectacular formations of the planet: particular mountains, particular rivers, certain rock structures.
We no longer do this. We don’t experience the natural world surrounding us. We deny ourselves our deepest delight by not participating in the dawn, the dusk, the solstice, the springtime.”

Suppose the American government was planning to impose a dictatorial regime upon the American people....

.....the following preparations would be essential:

1. Concentrate the populace in megalopolitan masses so that they can
be kept under close surveillance and where, in case of trouble, they
can be bombed, burned, gassed or machine-gunned with a minimum
of expense and waste.

2. Mechanize agriculture to the highest degree of refinement, thus
forcing most of the scattered farm and ranching populations into the
cities. Such a policy is desirable because farmers, woodmen, cowboys,
Indians, fishermen and other relatively self-sufficient types are
difficult to manage unless displaced from their natural environment.

3. Restrict the possession of firearms to the police and
regular military organizations.

4. Encourage or at least fail to discourage population growth. Large masses
of people are more easily manipulated and dominated than scattered individuals.

5. Continue military conscription. Nothing excels military training for
creating in young men an attitude of prompt, cheerful obedience to
officially constituted authority.

6. Divert attention from deep conflicts within the society by engaging
in foreign wars; make support of these wars a test of loyalty, thereby
exposing and isolating potential opposition to the new order.

7. Overlay the nation with a finely reticulated network of communications,
airlines and interstate autobahns.

8. Raze the wilderness. Dam the rivers, flood the canyons, drain the swamps,
log the forest, strip-mine the hills, bulldoze the mountains, irrigate
the deserts and improve the national parks into national parking lots.

Something to think about.....

The bottom line for our species is that because of population growth and the fivefold economic expansion since 1950, the environmental demands of our economic system now fill the available environmental space of the planet. This has brought us to a historic transitional point in the evolutionary development of our species from living in a world of open frontiers to living in a full world—in a mere historical instant. We now have the option of adjusting ourselves to this new reality or destroying our ecological niche and suffering the consequences.

'Expendable'

The 'Expendable' film documents the case of Schapelle Corby, a young Australian woman, who was sentenced to 20 years in an Indonesian prison in 2005, when 4.2kg of marijuana was found in her bag as she collected it on arrival in Bali.

The movie tracks the Australian government's response, which included the willful withholding of vital primary evidence. This included the information that 5kg had been added to the weight of her bags after check-in, and that the offending bag was the only one not screened at Sydney airport, which she passed through on route.

Anonymous hacks FBI and other law enforcement websites

Saboteurs have hacked into the websites of several law enforcement agencies worldwide in attacks attributed to the collective called Anonymous, including in Boston and in Salt Lake City, where police say personal information of confidential informants and tipsters was accessed.
The Utah hackers gained access this week to sensitive data, including citizen complaints about drug crimes, including phone numbers, addresses and other personal information, police said.

This sums it up pretty well.....

“No, I do not agree that everyone has a right to believe whatever they want when there’s overwhelming objective, factual evidence that their belief is wrong. My freedom and my life and the lives of everyone I love depend on enough people learning the truth and acting on it. If too many people ignore government abuses, I’m more likely to be a victim of the government. If too few people resist GMO…’s, I’m more likely to be damaged by GMO’s either directly or indirectly. The abuses that are killing us— poisons like aspartame, thimerosal, aluminum, fluoride and policies like wars for oil, opium or gold, predatory lending — all of these policies are killing people on a daily basis, must be stopped and can only be stopped if enough people pay attention to the research that’s already been done, form rationale and logical conclusions and take action before it’s too late. I don’t respect your right to be ignorant because it damages me, the people I love and my planet. There are not two sides to all issues, dammit. They have gotten away with all the lies so far because “there’s a sucker born every minute”. It’s up to us to make sure a truther is awakened every five seconds.”

While You Were Watching The Super Bowl...

Something to think about.....

“We were not born critical of existing society. There was a moment in our lives (or a month, or a year) when certain facts appeared before us, startled us, and then caused us to question beliefs that were strongly fixed in our consciousness-embedded there by years of family prejudices, orthodox schooling, imbibing of newspapers, radio, and television. This would seem to lead to a simple conclusion: that we all have an enormous responsibility to bring to the attention of others information they do not have, which has the potential of causing them to rethink long-held ideas.”

Indian tribes join forces to save petroglyph site

In the far reaches of northern Arizona, where city sprawl gives way to majestic canyons and a holy place is defined not by steeple and cross but rather by earth and sky, lies a monument to a people's past and a symbol of the promise of peace between two long-warring Indian nations.
